Grins sheepishly... hi... I sure havent posted here in a second, sorry about that -w-)ll I want to rectify that, also since it's been a while this entry will be quite long and rambly, you've been warned!
Obviously since I've last spoken to you I've released a couple things, namely Hurt Angel and my mini zine Rot Psalm. Rot Psalm will fully digitally released at the end of the month, so look forward to that! Thank you to everyone who has played Hurt Angel and y'alls kind words, it is one of the more self indulgent works I've made so the warm reception is appreciated.
Even if he doesn't look happy about it I am!!
Moving onto the now project wise, I'm currently slowly picking through making art and pages on my website for all my project ideas, Squelch being the first to get finished now. I'm excited to share all my worlds and little freaks, the amount of projects in my head can feel daunting at times but having a little page at least that people can see in the meantime is nice. The pages, while nice on their own, will hopefully also make choosing my next project easier! I have a lot of little ones as always but am mayhaps feeling up to starting one of the bigger ones that have been in my peripheral... but! Firstly and most importantly I will be doing a collab with my dear friend Mala for toxic yuri jam 2, so this gives me even more pondering and rumination time, any bigger project decisions probably wont lock in until the end of the year. Something I'm hoping to do in this between time is experimenting with engines, mainly Godot, as I've heard good things about Dialogic (especially the web builds compared to renpy,,,) and in general am interested in making forays into 3D game development... nothing wild, mind you! I'm not about to announce my own souls like or anything, but a few of my projects would be lovely as walking sim errand doing type games, mostly Squelch and Love of Lamb. In general I love games I can chill in and take in the environment and ambiance of a place and it has taken until now
to consider... woah... I could make that too... On that note I believe Love of Lamb is next on my list of pages to make, there's only 2 real characters and I've made their designs already, I just need to make proper pretty full bodies.
Dread Delusion is great for places to chill in a game.
Dev wise I'm also trying to improve my writing, I've been doing it more in general between writing things to submit to anthologies and playing with twine, and I feel like Im so impatient with it so my scenes come off as brief and choppy. I feel a bit bad because for Hurt Angel I asked a developer whose work I admire, basic bean, to give me some notes to improve it with and they gave me such lovely feedback! And then my SSD died and once Mala helped me retrieve and polish it a bit I just released it as is, just ready to have it published before something else happened. Maybe in the future when I'm up to touching it again I can apply their notes properly then, though in the meantime I'm still very thankful and keep their words in mind for future projects! It's funny I say all that about writing when the page I just finished is for my game Squelch, a game planned to have no recognizeable dialoge or anything in it lol.
Do Look forward to the game pages, a semi complete list of what's coming can be found on my new projects page! All the links that aren't done yet just lead to dead ends, sorryyy. That's most of what's happening in my dev world, outside of that I'm sewing a lot and trying to leave my house more which has been nice, but does admittedly slow the devving -w-)ll Anyway thank you for listening, if there is any particular game from the planned pages that sticks out to you, let me know! Maybe it'll give me motivation to prioritize that one :3c Until next time stay safe y'all, mwah!
Bye! Mwah!!
